This is a life told back to front.

This is a man who has lied all his life.

Roy is a conman living in a small English town, about to pull off his final con. He is going to meet and woo a beautiful woman and slip away with her life savings. But who is the man behind the con?

What has he had to do to survive a life of lies?

And who has had to pay the price?

My review
When only a good lie will reveal the truth. Roy is a con man.  He tells the women that he meets that one of things he dislikes dishonesty. But he seems to think dishonesty is all right if you can get away with it. Do you understand him? This is what pulls you along turning your pages.  Roy will confess to a women that his name is in fact not Brian. It’s Roy. Roy Courtnay. Brian was a kind of nom de plume for meeting women. I f you see what I mean. The Good Liar is Nicholas Searle’s first novel.
