MY REVIEW
A must buy must read gripping novel that is beautifully written to capture all readers heart.
Sunday 21st October Rachel took her son Ben and their dog to Leigh Woods as Ben ran on to reach the swing by the time Rachel had got to the swing, every parent’s nightmare Ben had vanished. The police put out a rescue alert to assist in tracing eight-year-old Benedict Finch. The story breaks your heart further as the separation and divorce tore Rachel apart when Ben disappeared as she was still in mourning for her husband. No one is let of the hook from questioning by the police. Gilly Macmillan has the gift to bring the chaotic  atmosphere that the press take to hound the family home of Rachel Jenner’s home and the with mixed emotion that when people take to Twitter or Facebook when a family crisis has occurred. Through out Burnt Paper Sky there is a nicely build-up of tension that makes you not rest until you know what happened. There is absolutely everything a reader might have expected and much more from this gripping story that should see author Gilly Macmillan with awards as one of the best novels of the year with Burnt Paper Sky.
