THE TRUTH AND OTHER LIES SASCHA ARANGO

FICTION IS TRUTH INSIDE A LIE

Famous best-selling author, loving husband, generous friend Henry Hayden has it all, or so it seems. What does it matter that his novels are in fact all written by someone else?

But when Henry’s carefully constructed life is threatened, it starts to look as if everything might fall apart.

As Henry weaves an increasingly complicated web of lies, half-lies and half-truths in a deception which is as entertaining as it is dark,  he remains a compelling character, evading the consequences of every actin as he plays of the police, his publisher, his friends and above all his past.

MY REVIEW

Sascha Arango is obviously one of Germany’s most a very gifted writers. He deserves his place as a top crime writer around the world.
What is there not to like here? There is a gallery of fascinating characters. We see everything through the eyes of Henry the main character, who is a famous author, with thanks to his beautiful clever wife. Sooner or later things start to go horribly wrong for Henry.
We follow Henry who is clearly heading for a journey into a very dark corner. But how does Henry cope having to keep his secrets and having affairs that are constant?. Love or hate Henry the main character, I loved the way he lied to a point that he made everyone believe his fascinating web of lies.
What to expect from the very entertaining Sascha Arango is a story full or terror from Henry Hayden a sociopath.  The Truth and Other Lies is a dark, clever and hugely entertaining thriller. Fans that liked reading Tom Ripley and Herman Koch’s The Dinner will enjoy The Truth and Other Lies..
This story endlessly fascinated me so much I just couldn’t it down.
I really do hope Sascha Arango is writing more clever novels to publish in the UK to fascinate me again.
