WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN BY LIONEL SHRIVER

Eva never really wanted to be a mother, certainly not the mother of the unlovable boy who murdered seven of his fellow high school students, a cafeteria worker and a teacher, who tried to befriend him. Now, two years later, it is time for her to come to terms with marriage, career, family, parenthood and Kevin’s horrific rampage in a service of startlingly direct correspondences with her absent husband Franklyn. Uneasy with the sacrifices and social demotion of motherhood from the start, Eva fears that her alarming dislike for her son may be responsible for driving him so holistically off the rails.

This was one the best books that I read in 2010. So many book lovers have read this page turning novel and all enjoyed it. For any book lovers who have not read this novel I highly recommend the book We Need To Talk About Kevin to you all.

  1. I read this years ago and while it was brilliant it was far from an easy read! Highly recommended though.

  2. It sure was not an easy read, so sad. I think all book lovers that read We Need To Talk About Kevin found it heartbreaking reading about what Kevin did and the way his mother unloved him. .
